NM Galaxy 2nd Series

This is the second 15km race for me this month, just a week after Kuala kangsar.
Almost the same route as the 2XU run. Quite a hilly and challenging route I might say and it wasn't easy but still got through it finishing at 5th place.
Just a few weeks more for my Malacca Marathon. Need to expand on my training schedule. Couldn't have done it with my training friends.

Larian Keputeraan Sultan Azlan Shah 2014

Results

Top Runners of this event

    First place Che Din

   Third place goes to Lili

My first time going to Kuala Kangsar, have to say a very peaceful and small town and things are really much simple here. With endless rain, lucky it wasn't raining on the event day with Sunny and Cool weather at the same time.
This race is something different from my previous races as the start just takes you through the town and we ended up in the kampung road areas. Not to mention the beautiful bridge and the scenery that takes us. Will do this race again next year hopefully.

Did my time of 1:04 for a 15.6km race. Ended up 8th.  Could do better for next time.

Mount Bunga Buah

    Hi there,
Taking a 2 week off from  my running schedule, and heading to the hills for a relaxing hill climb up near Genting Sempah.
Actually located behind Sri Malaysia Hotel Genting is a Hiking Trail called Bunga Buah.
It's a long climb, for as it takes 3:11hours to get up and 2:37hours to get down.
You can't rush this climb because all you need is to embrace the trail and let what Mother Nature gives you ahead.
For the start it's a calm walk through tar roads and after an hour you will need to start trail walking and a bit of climbing. For this route you need to pace yourself and don't rush things.
To prepare you might need
: 3litres of Water
: chocolate bars or snacks
: and Salt ( for those leeches)
: Poncho
: Rubber Shoes

It's a dry weather with abit of cool weather from 21degress to 16 degrees.
I might say I enjoyed more on the way down because the mist started coming and the rain started pour. Mind you more leeches kept coming.
Another note. Start your climb preferably morning around 8am, so that you return back just after Lunch.

These are check points. And there's 8 of them along the way.

Weekend Climb Gunung Dato' Negeri Sembilan

Mount Gunung Dato is Located within Rembau Negeri Sebilan, at least 30 mins drive from the Pedas tol right after the Seremban Exit.
We started at 11:30 morning, quite late for a climb but it's ok. But preferably anytime after 7am as it is much cooler during that time.
Be prepared to bring your own food for the after climb as most stalls were closed during this weekend. And small water bottles and some chocolates to consume when you reach the top. Don't bring anything that will hinder your weight.
Ok back to the climb, this was my first ever trail mountain climb. I've been to a few trail runs but this was different as you cant actually speed run due to the sharp rocks and tree roots that were tangling to the ground. It's more to an endurance and cardio challenge. But if your not rushing you might as well enjoy the serenity of the woods and the calmness of nature.
Be prepared to wear trail shoes as the steep uphill and descents require lots of grip on the ground especially when your heading down.
It took me 48mins to reach till the top and 40 mins return back to the entrance. Walking pace.
Enjoyed every part of this climb and I would do it again.
Enjoy your runs guys!!

Brooks Half Marathon 2014

My first ever Brooks Half, well organized but despite the bad haze weather and the humidity of that morning was a real turn off.  The race was sold out. Around 5000 people gathered for this annual event. Not like your usual Half marathon. This was quite a tough race with unfamiliar faces and more challenging uphill routes. Compared to the BSN Night Marathon it had quite a similar gradient and faster pacers. Did my best for this but I guessed I still Havnt recovered from my TiTiUltra. Finished at 21st place at 1:37:19.
