Weekend Climb Gunung Dato' Negeri Sembilan

Mount Gunung Dato is Located within Rembau Negeri Sebilan, at least 30 mins drive from the Pedas tol right after the Seremban Exit.
We started at 11:30 morning, quite late for a climb but it's ok. But preferably anytime after 7am as it is much cooler during that time.
Be prepared to bring your own food for the after climb as most stalls were closed during this weekend. And small water bottles and some chocolates to consume when you reach the top. Don't bring anything that will hinder your weight.
Ok back to the climb, this was my first ever trail mountain climb. I've been to a few trail runs but this was different as you cant actually speed run due to the sharp rocks and tree roots that were tangling to the ground. It's more to an endurance and cardio challenge. But if your not rushing you might as well enjoy the serenity of the woods and the calmness of nature.
Be prepared to wear trail shoes as the steep uphill and descents require lots of grip on the ground especially when your heading down.
It took me 48mins to reach till the top and 40 mins return back to the entrance. Walking pace.
Enjoyed every part of this climb and I would do it again.
Enjoy your runs guys!!

Brooks Half Marathon 2014

My first ever Brooks Half, well organized but despite the bad haze weather and the humidity of that morning was a real turn off.  The race was sold out. Around 5000 people gathered for this annual event. Not like your usual Half marathon. This was quite a tough race with unfamiliar faces and more challenging uphill routes. Compared to the BSN Night Marathon it had quite a similar gradient and faster pacers. Did my best for this but I guessed I still Havnt recovered from my TiTiUltra. Finished at 21st place at 1:37:19.

TitTiUltra 50K Hulu Langat

My first ever ultra race, 50km in the hilly valley areas of Hulu Langat and Semenyih.
Flag off started at 12am, luckily it wasn't raining. But the weather was really cold and windy when we got to the peak. Must say it was an adventurous race cuz it was really dark surrounded by forest on both sides of the road. And we're accompanied by mat rempits and wild dogs around. The first 10km was ok cuz everyone was around but the last 25 was one really lonely road when all u have is urself and your torch light. But I enjoyed every second of it. Every pit stop was stationed with generous ammounts of food and drinks to keep you going through out the journey. No rush no fuss just enjoy the road while at it. And what I liked about this race is that all runners gave support to each other cheering one another every time we passed by. And must give big thanks to the organizers. Everything was well organized and in place. And big thumbs up to those 100km finishers. Very proud of you guys!!!
